Well not wrong, but for me the Nema wires are different colours to mine. The Colours on the diagram are, RED GREEN YELLOW BLACK Now my Nema 17 and the 3 23s (All bought from here in the US) are slightly different, RED BLACK BLUE GREEN Personally I'd just connect the Blue in place of the Yellow, but I don't want to wire it wrongly as it might damage something. Has anyone else had Nema's with the same wiring as mine and if yes, did you do as I suggested above. Please let me know as this is the last part of this build. Thanks a lot.
Using no power, pick a wire. Then, pair it with another. If it is hard to turn the motor by hand, then it is a pair. If not, pick another and repeat. When you find a pair, do the same to the other two just to verify. Or, if you have a way to measure continuity, choose that method. More info: Spark-Concepts/xPRO After hooking them up, if a motor turns opposite of the way you want, pick a pair and reverse those two wires.
Thank's for your replies guy's I already know my pairs, they are RED & BLACK, BLUE & GREEN. My question was about the wire colours being different. On the GitHub & Spark sites all the diagrams have a YELLOW wire on the Nema's, but all my Nema's have a BLUE wire, not a YELLOW one. Can I safely use the blue wire in place of the yellow one without compromising the setup. Thanks a lot.
Yes you'll be fine substituting blue for yellow as the color of the plastic insulation makes no difference to the Xpro board. Pairs are pairs and that's all that matters to the board.
