This might seem odd thing todo. I belong to a makers space and run the machine shop they have Z we have a full size knee mill . I would like to add Cnc to the mill but have two problems they do not have funds to pay for the parts needed to retro fit it and I don't want to pay for it since if I leave I would have to remove the conversion or write the cost off . So I would like to make a small X/y table I can bolt to it . The problem is I don't know what size stepper motors and what linear ways will be stiff enough . I plan to mill pistol slide so it need to be stiff enough for steel.
