    I have a ZYX probe but cant seem to make it work with my X carve.
    When I have easel open. The Openbuilds Control v1.0.303 errors trying to find the com port.
    I close the Easel and it works and I am able to locate the material edge for setup. But then I close Openbuilds Control v1.0.303 and open Easel I don't have the Z position anymore. Anyone able to assist me. thanks

    When you connect/disconnect you reset Grbl. Do you have a fully configured Homing setup (Offsets are stored, but re-established by homing)

    Easiest: Export GCODE, Open it in CONTROL and run the whole job from CONTROL :)

    Thank you for replying. I have a couple of answers and question again thanks.
    Q-When you connect/disconnect you reset Grbl.
    A=What does this mean?

    Q=Do you have a fully configured Homing setup (Offsets are stored, but re-established by homing)
    A=I have an Xcarve 1000x1000 with homing switches? I purchased it end of 2019. Don't know if it offsets can be stored?

    Q=Easiest: Export GCODE, Open it in CONTROL and run the whole job from CONTROL.
    A= I can export G code from Fusion 360 or do a cut in easel. I don't understand what open it in control means.

    When you switch between Easel and CONTROL - connecting in one application, disconnecting in the other, each time the port opens, you "reboot" grbl

    I'm telling you offsets are stored (so shouldn't get messed up between connections), if you have Homing properly configured and use it all the time. Offsets (where you zeroed) is stored as offsets from Machine coordinates. Machine coordinates are established by Homing. See gnea/grbl

    CONTROL is a Host. You load up gcode, from ANYWHERE into it, to send it to Grbl. Read docs:software:overview [OpenBuilds Documentation] to understand the CAD > CAM > CONTROL workflow
    Easel, is also a Host. but having to switch between the two, is harder on your learning curve. So just like you export gcode from Fusion, and then load it into CONTROL using the Open GCODE button, exactly so, you can load GCODE that you saved/exported out of Easel, thus using Easel as a CAM not as a Host.

    If you use CONTROL as the only way to run jobs, the "probe issue" goes away by itself
