    Hello,

Ever since I got my Workbee CNC 1510, in December, I've never been able to have an accurate movement of the y-axis steppers. They never move in sync. As per a previous recommendation, I did check to make sure my grub screws to the stepper motors were tight to avoid slippage and in fact, that was an issue that I fixed adding loctite to seal the deal. I've made sure the belts were tight and that the eccentric spacers are tight enough against the aluminum extrusion. But still, as I move the y-axis, the reaction of the steppers are now worse than before. The y2 motor is fine but the y1 motor sputters one way and then goes the other with, again, a very big hesitation. I've been told in the past that this is caused by wires not correctly set in the connectors. I've triple checked and the wires are fine. Very annoyed, did I get a dud?

Hi again, I've checked all the connections so the insulation is not a problem. I've added a video showing the issue.

Did you follow the link @Peter Van Der Walt gave you and check the coils on the stepper motors? Your symptoms are exactly what we would expect if one wire was making intermittent contact. Use a multimeter (power off first) to check the continuity of the wiring between your stepper drivers and the stepper motor.
    Alex.

Sorry - have to check as you didn't say - did you check the wiring to the stepper motors to identify which pair of wires was connected to each coil in the stepper? If you have the coils wired in the wrong sequence that will also cause problems.
    Alex.

That is a question I dont't quite understand. I alined the colors like I did for all other steppers so, why would this one be different?

At the blackbox end, the wires were reversed. Sorry, I couldn't see the forest for the trees. But unfortunetly, I still get an knocking sound you can hear in the video.

Looks more mechanical now. Belt tensioned? Sounds (and admittedly its hard to hear on video, easier with ears closer to the moving parts doing positional triangulation) like belt slipping on the pulley.

Try a lower jog speed and see if it improves?

Thank you Peter, the issue was bad tension on the belt causing slippage. And thank you Alex.
