I have a fairly new lead 1515 machine. I bought just a few months back. And recently I am having an issue with the left side motor stalling mid travel.
Mostly when I am moving from front to back or back to front the left side makes a squealing type of sound and stalls while the right side continues to move. I have to then shut it down and turn the screw by hand to even out the two sides. I have noticed that when the machine is powered down I can easily turn the right side screw by hand but the left side is tighter and I need to use the wrench. It moves easily with the wrench but definitely seems tighter. I am going to start removing things this weekend to see what is possibly binding this side up but figured some suggestions before would be helpful. One other thing to note is when I loosen the nut blocks on the left side to see if that was causing the tightness the X axis seems to want to "spring" forward as if there is tension there. Could there be an issue with the right side somewhere that is causing extra tightness on the left and causing the motor to stall or am I overthinking this. My plan was to remove the the X axis and reinstall making sure everything is aligned well and everything runs smooth. So any insight into this or something I can check before I start ripping and tearing would be appreciated. TIA

    1) Check mechanicals - both smooth throughout (Stalling could be a binding point, apply dry/PTFE lubricant to leadscrew, make sure all mechanicals are smooth through full range of travel)
    2) Check wiring, intermittent loss of one of the 4 motor wires can cause a stall (loose terminal etc)
    3) Check Acceleration/Max Rate tuning Grbl v1.1 Configuration and Grbl v1.1 Configuration - if set too high can cause stalls
    4) The "jumping" sounds like frame might not be trammed perfectly: Tramming: A generic guideline

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
I will look at all this over the weekend.
