Y2 axis motor randomly disconnects during homing and cannot run any jobs. Z axis also acting strange, sometimes it won’t move. Restarting blackbox helps temporarily. I’ve been using without problems till last night. Has anyone else experienced this?
Either wiring or current adjustment set too high: See docs:blackbox:currentadjustment [OpenBuilds Documentation] (check for the red exclamation mark LED on the front when it stops) and docs:blackbox:faq-identify-motor-coils [OpenBuilds Documentation]
thanks. i have no red exclamation on controller. Adj. the current as described in documentation. the steppers and controller have all been working fine untill last night. however now ZYX axis all report disabled in control software. resetting, disconnecting, restarting have no affect on the status. have checked grbl setting, all correct. have checked all stepper wiring, no issues
Thats just the number readouts (doesnt affect whether the motor is enabled or not) You must've misclicked by accident, in the Troubleshooting menu and Disabled the DROs (Digital Readouts) Just re-enable it. Its used to save some CPU on slower machines - people can disable the features they don't really need if they only have a old slow computer Wiring is always fine until it is not anymore... Things move, and tuck, and pull. Not tightening a terminal enough, or pinching some insulation under the terminal, all create intermittent faults- that look fine from outside Check by redoing any suspect connections on that axis
