I'm new to CNC. Bought a machine and have used it a few weeks. I THINK the Z motor is malfunctioning. I used the controller box to try and set the XYZ start position. When I try to set the Z, it starts to go down then reverses direction and goes up. When I push the up arrow, it goes down almost all the way and then reverses direction and goes up. I tried using the computer and USB and have the same results. Do you agree it's the stepper motor? Thanks for any advice.

See docs:blackbox:faq-identify-motor-coils [OpenBuilds Documentation] - random movement is a sign of wiring either incorrect, or only 3 of the 4 wires making solid contact

I'll check but the machine worked flawlessly yesterday and nothing was touched. Then today I tried it and there is intermediate control of the z axis. I don't understand how it could break while not being used.

Wire bending back and forth on one strain spot - over time the strands break off inside the insulation or
Vibrations over time rattle loose terminal screws etc

Wiring is always "still fine" until it isn't anymore
