There are off set nuts on the right hand side three in total that can be turned to tighten up any slack in the extreme V wheels, but there is no more adjustment left and there’s a small bit of play and the extreme V wheels are not tight does anybody have any tricks to fix this problem, I was thinking about getting some steel wheels machined, the same as the extreme wheels because I believe the extreme wheels have sunk into the track of the Z gantry
You can post some pictures of your wheels if you'd like us to check - if there were adjusted beyond spec they can crack/degrade. Eccentrics should only be adjusted to dial out any free play - adjusting beyond that can cause damage to the wheels over time. Steel wheels would be a very bad idea - would ruin the extrusions (you'd want the hard faced extrusion to be the non-wear item, and the cheaper and easier to replace wheels should be the long term consumable)
OK, thank you I think I will replace the wheels because right now I do have a heavier router and I have had some mishaps where the tool dug too deep while moving which may have caused some of the slop. My machine is only a couple of months old so I don’t think there will be any degrading just maybe a bit too much weight
The Xtreme Solid V-Wheel is the best load carrying wheel yes. You don't say which machine you have? But if you are only using 4 wheels - most plates in our range allows for use of more (6 for example) to handle heavier loads.
