Have installed and configured my new Black Box and all appears to work ok except probing. My home made plate is just a copper plate mounted on a block, worked fine on my previous controller. The Sig. wire goes to plate and Gnd. to clip. Probe hits the plate but doesn't trip, requiring a very quick hit of the cancel button.
Very pleased with the Black Box and Interface, such high quality as is the control software. My machine is an original Ox about 3 years old so if I can get the Probe sorted AND you get the xyz probe back in stock I shall be delighted. Regards

Rather use the Troubleshooting tab in CONTROL to test :) that's what is there for. Lift plate to touch bit. Or touch magnet to plate. Can also test directly at the connector (bridge SIG to GND. NB do not short V+ to GND - it will likely result in permanent damage) - this will help you see if its wiring, your probe, something like the magnet being coated in some non-conductive coating, endmill not making a good connection, etc

Thank you Peter for a very fast response. I have used the the Troubleshooting Tab but get no response when I bridge SIG and GND. I see +4.42v between SIG and GND but it doesn't trigger the Probe trouble shooting button when shorted. Is there anything I could have missed in setup? Thanks again.

The pull-up voltage is normal. Weird that there is no response. Speak to http://support.openbuilds.com/support/home and they will sort you out :)

I want to thank you Peter and the staff at Openbuilds for a super fast replacement BlackBox which is working perfectly. Only a week went by before delivery to Australia - unbelievable!
    Regards
