This build is an OX derivative. It was designed to maximize size using 1000mm extrusion for Y and 1500mm for X. The gantry in long direction allows for easier access and was inspired by the CNC router parts 4x2.
I based it on Giuliano M's 48x48 build. I used similar structure, except that I moved added structure below the standard OX configuration to maintain Z travel.
I added connection between gantry rails to improve torsional resistance. To do this I drill through outer two extrusions and then screwed through the holes into T-nuts in center extrusion.
This router replaces the mdf router that I built based on the buildyourcnc book. That machine had many design flaws and was no longer functional. I was able to reuse the motors and controller.
The custom aluminum parts were source from Chris Laidlaw and are very well done.
If/when I get a chance to modify drawings, I will upload.
