I'm building this plasma cutter because I could not get enough work space with my r7 to cut plates for a rear truck bumper with 1000x1000. This is 8 x 5 roughly, and I'm using gt3 belts. Since there is no cutting force using plasma, this should be sufficient, bit only further testing will prove that. My r7 with plasma would cut within .015", hopefully this will be close to that. I can post files if anyone is interested. This build is a little different having the belts on the outside, but I'm going to make it work with stock ox plates. I'm also using a proma thc 150 so I'm not worried about deflection in the y or x beams.

Today I had a little time, and did what i call and who I give credit to for the idea, the Brandon Satterfield mod. Adding disconnects on the plates close to the steppers.

Got everything but the floating head switch wired. More pics under the discussion tab! All the motors working and it's running smooth.

THC not working. Anyone with experience with planet cnc and THC's?
Added a few pics of most recent project. Didn't use the machine too much, just cut out three plates, one with slots. Worked ok, but would like to have the THC functioning. Plasma cutting is like magic...

Added a few more pics of setup, including a wall of shame.... parts that didn't fit or tests.

Reason for this Build
I built this do I could cut large sheets of metal with a plasma cutter. I couldn't fit steel sheets large enough for bigger projects, and hopefully some large signs for around the property.Inspired by
