This is what I'm envisioning.. just have to see what I actually end up with.
Controls tested and running.
Support table, torsion box table.
Gantry also a torsion box.
First assembly of the gantry. Table is ~60 thou (1.5mm) off left to right across 4 feet. I'm thinking just let the spoil board correct for that.
Test fit and powered Z Axis
Z axis I put the profile bearings on the travel plate so when extended it is as rigid as possible.
Gantry final assembly and aligning.
Plywood Built CNC Router
Build in 'CNC ROUTER BUILDS' published by Project Hopeless, Apr 10, 2020.
This is my first build attempt, a large form (4x4ft.) 3 axis 4-motor CNC router table, . The build components are Baltic birch plywood, stepper motors, SBR linear bearings, and ball screws, LinuxCNC, Mesa controller.
