    Good day All

I need some technical assistance with fault finding with my Lead 1515 CNC.

I am using the STB5100 controller and the TB6600 Stepper Motors set to 6400 pulses per revolution and current of 3 Amps on the driver.

If I manually move the X, Y and Z axis and return it to zero it works fine or if use the gcode:

    G01z100, G01Z1000, G01X1000.

However, if I complete a 2 hour project (+- 18000 steps) and it returns to zero it has drifted a few millimetres from the original zero and the project needs to be thrown away because of the drift. The deviation from zero increases as the project size / number of steps increases (currently a deviation Z=3.9mm, X =12mm Y=18.7mm.)

I have followed instructions from Drufel with regards to enabling and disabling steppers and calibrating them, changing the device mode etc., but sadly the drift continues!

Is Open Builds Control software compatible with my hardware? Currently I am struggling for it find the correct com port to connect to the STB5100

Any advice would be greatly appreciated (even if I need to change the controller).

    Regards

    Peter Wolf

You need a Grbl compatible controller. Get a BlackBox (see docs.openbuilds.com/blackbox) and possibly also replace your motors, power supply and limit switches with ours
