That is the only cnc you will need for most of your diy projects.

How to build an Independent Dual EXtruder (IDEX) 3D printer from OpenBuilds parts.

At the moment this build is in progress, I will be updating the files as I finish the remainder of the machine. This machine is intended to be a multipurpose CNC, but a bit bigger than a desktop unit. The machine is scalable in the X and Y axis.

Hi! This build is, or at least should be, a multipurpose box (mBOX). Due to limited space I want to build something that can serve multiple purposes such as 3d printing, 3d scan, plexiglass cutting and hopefully some milling too (both wood and metal). Switching between modes should involve switching heads and worksurface (change heatbed with a wood platform and viceversa). My very first attempt at a CNC build. Based on the OpenBuilds C-Beam Machine, small tweaks will be made to tailor it for my goals: machining G10, aluminum & some carbon fiber for use with multirotor and motorcycle parts. I am looking forward to the day when I am comfortable enough to bring the ideas in my head to the tip of the end mill in a smooth fashion...

This is a basic description of my OX-like build of Babe, Paul Bunyan's Blue Ox. It is a work in progress. The idea has been germinating for about 4 years, with several twists and turns and false starts along the way.

I like this design a lot. It's very stable, very strong and with the EX2 enhancements, it prints like a champ.
