I love to build things. I decided to build a CNC machine to help me build more things! I had a lot of fun and I learn a lot of thing in the process of building this machine. p.s. my primary language is french not english. Forgive me if I made some mistake.

The Mule is a 3-axis CNC inspired by the OX CNC by Mark Carew. This machine borrows the OX's sturdy frame and upgrades the X and Y linear actuators through the use of three 500mm lead screws (as opposed to the belt system of the OX). The result is an inexpensive, sturdy, and powerful design built for cutting tough materials such as aluminum.

My Controls box to run my Workbee 1510 That was retrofitted with Lead Screws as well as Lineal Bearings. The stock electrical configuration was not enough, so here are the Measures that I took to not only make this machine Run again, but to have fun with it, and make this system be able to run any CNC I run in the future with the installed microcontroller.

Mostly for Mill work, and FDM 3D printing (mostly Nylonx). I'm currently in the process of adding some hardware for a project requiring lathe work. Getting more height out of the !510

Dove in and ordered the kit from Makerstore in Melbourne. While awaiting for the order watched videos and sourced steppers and controllers from China. Had some fun with the 4 axis TB6600 controller board. Ran into a few problems with the build, but after stripping and restarting looks like I am on track.

I'm starting my first own build cnc machine which is inspired by routy and the ox. Were my goal was not to use the ox plates but use the standard plates available in the parts store for the design.

I could not "tram" the spindle to the table. I found that the V Rails could not accurately be adjusted so the Gantry was equal distance from the spoilboard in multiple places.

I ordered the OpenBuilds MiniMill from the OpenBuilds Parts Store http://openbuildspartstore.com/ They were out of Motors and Electronics when I ordered so I had to source these items elsewhere. But it turned out well doing it this way.

CNC OX 1500X3000

Modified Acro for laser engraving. Extra height and and a sturdy build surface for part fixtures, custom mount plates, OPT Laser, and a Z-Axis.

Build features include a double c-beam gantry (bonded & mechanically fastened), linear x rails, custom gantry end plates, a custom linear rail & ballscrew Z axis, and custom lead screw tensioning plates. The primary goal was to remove twist from the 1500mm gantry & stiffen the Z axis.

Inexpensive Custom CNC Machine or swappable Laser Engraver utilizing OpenBuilds ACRO System

20x26x28 inch Build Volume CoreXY. Unlike many builds, I've decoupled the XY movements from the Z-Axis lead screws to help prevent Wobble, will be using linear guide rails, and mains powered bed heater, and a bed that is Allowed to thermally grow. This build is JUST narrow enough to fit through a standard sized doorway.

OLD Lead 1010 High Z Mod converted to Newest Lead 1515 with High Z mod, slimmer cbeam motor mounts, thrust bearings etc. Extended by original table out and upgraded my 1.5kw VFD and Spindle to 4kw ER20 Spindle and 7.5kw GT VFD

This is an arcade "cabinet" of sorts built almost entirely from OpenBuilds extrusions. Save for a few 3d printed parts, the electrical components, the acrylic panels, and the monitor mount, every component was purchased from the OpenBuilds part store.

This is a big 609 x 609 x 914 3d pritner with exchangable hot ends and extruders.

This is my first cnc router. I like the open builds concept. I bought parts when I had the money. It seems everytime i think i have all the parts, i find something I am missing. I have the demand to cut/etch tall pieces of material. For this reason, I have designed a machine with 500mm uprights with adjustable gantry height. This way I can raise/lower the sled and z-axis as needed. I've also chosen to use a linear C-channel assembly for the Z axis with the plate mounted to the gantry instead of the other way around. This will allow for maximum range of the z-axis. The parts list/BOM does not include motors/belts/pulleys or electronics.

This is a pure cbeam build to maximize envelope and rigidity. All the parts used are available from open builds.

I made a 5x10 foot cnc out of the parts I bought on this site. It's been upgraded and tinkered with ever since. The end goal is to learn enough to learn to build a large 10x10 foot 3d printer.

KYO SPHINX, CENTROID ACORN, GECKO 540, HALL EFFECT LIMIT SWITCHES, 2.2 KW, 24,000 RPM SPINDLE, WATER COOLED, 600 oz-in STEPPERS, INTENDED TO CUT ALUMINUM.

The plasma CNC that I have built has a water table that measures 1350mm x 650mm. The water is flooded onto the cut area while cutting and recycled around with a pump. This is to reduce smoke, cool the metal being cut to reduce distortion and also to keep sparks to a minimum. Most of the machine has been made from aluminium , the frame and table from steel, the water table, stainless steel.

Using the Routy290 build and an awful lot of help from puntoMX, this machine has been expanded in the X and Y axis. My first build, I'm learning a lot about all of this. I've had to disassemble parts of this thing many times due to forgetfulness, but that's ok. Also, I've forgotten to take constant pictures throughout the build.
