This build is based on the C-Beam build by Mark Carew. I have added axis limit switches and a remote mounted control cabinet. This build also uses a custom moveable table.

Hello all, wanted to share my custom build that I planed to do. My idea was to drill foam blocks to make molds for my projects. The CNC will be 1500-1500mm with a higher Z-Axis. So I redesigned the Gantry Plates that will be cut out at some other place. I hope you can share your opinion on my project.

While i achieved the desired taler Z axis this was very notable of the cost of the stiffness of the Y axis - the Y axis is now quite wobbly. i do not recommend such a big Z axis on a OX CNC machine where the requirement is a good precision.

In short...this was a fun project.

The new C-Beam kit expanded to 1000mm . extra support built in for the extents of the travel.

This is the original C-Beam Sphinx with the 16 wheel X gantry plates. I'm using the Ethernet Smoothstepper, Gecko G540 stepper driver and Mach 4 for motion control.

My First major improvement was changing the controller to a Acorn board. I loved the way a dedicated userinterface was speeding up my workflow. Next project my Y Axis. On Aliexpress I ordered a couple of 16mm ballscrews and some lineair rail. Before I took my gantry off I quickly made some aluminium profiles to fit my carriages. Withouth any doubt these improvements where worth it

I've been working on commercial woodworking CNC's for year's under shop owner's that didn't want me to progress any further at a certain point. This is a project I've wanting to build for about 10 years now. I can't wait for the freedom to build what I know is possible without any negative input.

I used the cad designs for the c beam to find a solution to my initial sourcing problem. I figured that I could use 2x 20x20 and 1x 20x80 Profil to create a c beam actuator. I sourced all of the profiles from a local machin builder and t-nuts and screws in my local hardware store. Some parts are currently in 3d printed pla for testing reasons.

I have decided to buy and build the ooznest workbee screw driven cnc (1000x1000) and also decided to use some plates and extrusions from the ox cnc. I will never use two machines anyway and hoping to build a strong base for the workbee.

Its the first build for me so its just the story of me attempting to build the kit and hopefully end up with something I can use. Hopefully without destroying anything or anyone.

I'm building a CNC router in my garage (almost finished!) and I'm keeping a video build log of the process in the hope it may be useful to others wanting to do the same. I don't have much in the way of fancy tools so expect a bit of innovation on the way!

This started as an attempt to learn to weld and quickly took on a life of its own.

This is my first CNC router build. I want to gain basic CNC building experience so I can go on to build other items such as a frosting or pancake printer.

A Controlbox for my CNC-Router, containing stepper-drivers, Planet-CNC MK3 Controller and a Controlpanel with joysticks.

This build is to show what's possible as well with openBuilds! I use a single ArduinoMega and 5 separate stepper drivers (A4988). The LEDs are all NeoPixels. Collision 'detection' is all done within the code, so the endstops are only sensors I use in this build. I'm a self-employed video-artist and this is my first installation which just needs power and it runs (where I'm quite proud of). Normally my interactive installations take a long setup time, so this installation is a relief :)

The machine is a stock Lead CNC, with the Black Box controller and StepperOnline 269oz NEMA 23 motors. I'll be using the DeWalt 611 from Openbuilds, as well.

An attempt is to be a Unified Modular Controller based on M10CUBE platform. For GRBLHAL and MARLINHAL applications. HAL porting is under way 1 - WIZnet Pico Clone W5100S-EVB-Pico 2 v- 6 X StepStick. Not sure about the sixth driver, (Pico pins limitation) . External connectors for larger drivers 3 - Opto - isolated spindle PWM. 4 - HMI 5 - I/O on diferent modules and Ethernet 10MBPS communication. Patches will be written to GRBLHAL for Ethernet I/Os (Interrupted).

The goal though is to design it around a new build with minimal tools for some one with no cnc access. Drillpress and drill bits and tap set. A 10in Non ferrous metal cutting blade for my table saw. This is my second Ox with a working area of 14" x 14" x 5" I wanted to build a small sturdy potable CNC router and this OxZilla has the nice upgrades !

My Controls box to run my Workbee 1510 That was retrofitted with Lead Screws as well as Lineal Bearings. The stock electrical configuration was not enough, so here are the Measures that I took to not only make this machine Run again, but to have fun with it, and make this system be able to run any CNC I run in the future with the installed microcontroller.

I just did my first Powder coat paint job on a Z Axis with 9inchs of travel for the DIY CNC Plasma Cutter, Mill Head, Router, Engraver, Laser Head, Water Jet Cutter Machine. 2 different Z Axis ride plates and a 80mm Router/Mill Head/Spindle clamp. Baked on finish in a old oven i had.

This is my first attempt at building a spindle based CNC machine. The intention is to mill PCB boards and mill delrin blocks. The device was built with an Emergency Stop that actually cuts power to the spindle and motors. This is a post build write-up and consists of finished photo compilation and CAD renderings.

Been playing around with an MPG Jogwheel

This was my first foray into CNC. I chose to go with a reliable kit build since my knowledge of GCode, controllers, and steppers was pretty rudimentary.

I designed and made this from scratch. The frame is welded steel filled with sand, and most of the other parts are aluminium. It's controlled with a DIY ESP32 controller running GRBL_ESP32

The tale of how we put together our CNC Router, and some of the difficulties encountered. It is now ready for final testing and commissioning.

This is our first CNC project is based on OX CNC. We show you some pictures about our progress. We finished assembly design, software test and drivers test, now we are building the machine.

I have the demand to cut/etch tall pieces of material. For this reason, I have designed a machine with 500mm uprights with adjustable gantry height. This way I can raise/lower the sled and z-axis as needed. I've also chosen to use a linear C-channel assembly for the Z axis with the plate mounted to the gantry instead of the other way around. This will allow for maximum range of the z-axis. The parts list/BOM does not include motors/belts/pulleys or electronics.

A compact, strong machine with very high Z clearance, yet can still mill aluminium easily.
