An attempt at copying the https://openbuilds.com/builds/makersl-msl-8-ob-vise.4084/ using just off-the-shelf OpenBuilds Parts - no machining

This build is not based on the ox, but got my ideas and inspiration from my first build,

Somewhere along the line sometime around February 2017 I got the bug in my head that I needed to build a CNC router. This is where I am today...

Just some repairs and upgrades to my drill press and mitre saw using c-beam.

So for my senior project I decided to build a CNC router. I kind of need to get this done before May so we'll see what all goes down. It's going to be a 3 axis machine (for now) and will be able to handle 4x8 sheets of wood. This is my first build. It's going to be intresting..

I'm building a CNC router for a long time. Here's the result on this long journee. I tried to do my best with the basic tools I have. Don't hesitate to ask if you have questions.

This is a WorkBee 1000x1000mm with lead screws and Nema17's. It has a reduced footprint, with the geared Nema's inside the frame.

i would like to build a sturdy motorized photographic copy stand. i have hobbled together a hand crank version using a used umbrella pole but it is not suitable as it is awkward and wobbly.

A modified C-Beam Build with a few Addons

This is a simpel build of a Linear rail for the Dobot Magician.

This is a workbee 1010 build using the mechanical parts from Open Builds. The electrical and electronic parts were from a prior build of a Root 3 CNC by Sailor Pete.

My original Tevo Tarantula kit was ok..... I had issues with the X gantry staying level. I got rid of the wheels and replaced them with linear block bearings. I still had some issues with the X gantry. I swapped out the plastic parts with aluminum which was much better. Still not what I want yet

My goal was to be able to enlarge my C-Beam with as many original parts as possible. I was able to recycle almost all of them with a only the two 500 mm rails left over. I used 1000 mm rails for the X Axis and I added another complete Y Axis assembly. I chose to keep it simple and I am very happy with the result!

CNC variation about Sphinx.

This is a C-Beam based router with V-rails used for the bed, a Sherline spindle with Jacobs chuck, closed loop stepper motors on every axis and an offline 4-axis CNC controller. A U-channel was created to guide the drag chain on the X-axis.

Generic 6 Axis (Stepper) Controller

A half baked idea for mounting electrics and electronics using a 35mm-DIN-rail-like mounting.

I've owned some pretty unreliable printers, and I'll leave it at that... This design comes from the need to have a 3D printer that is reliable, period. I didn't have the money for a several thousand dollar 3d printer with an equivalent build area so that was out of the question. Plus as a fledgling Engineer, I really wanted to blood myself on a project. And that's how Old Faithful came to be. A simple, reliable, rigid, durable machine. This is my first cnc build, never used one before and don't know too much besides what i've read a little bit about them online. It's probably going to be about 31" y axis with hopefully around 4ft x axis, z height is still to be determined.

The idea here is to build a nice large delta bot from the parts ground on the one builds part store. Other parts that are sources out side of this will be detailed. I have a simple BOM I started that I will upload later.

The Rock n Roll is built on granite, is solid as a rock, and gathers no moss. This build provides a high degree of accuracy and repeatability. Built to be strong, use redundancy, and use long lever arms to average out imperfections in the equipment. Built to go fast and light. We will use a high speed spindle, large high voltage stepper motors and small cutting heads to overwhelm the forces produced at the cutting head.

Just now in the planning phase of my build. Waiting for some parts to come in to see what I am going to build off of. Print area going to be close to 300x300x350. Trying to decide if I want it enclosed. I do want to print ABS... so probably so.

Anti-Twist Design, larger lead screws, enhanced M8 wheel sets.

This is a stool, designed in 18mm wood for a cnc router, it's easily scaleable to different wood-thicknesses, in 18mm wood it takes up 1200*1200mm. It can be assembled without screws, nails or glue and can therefore also be easily disassembled.

The parts are now very reasonable.

This project provides an easy method for my granddaughter to use the facilities in the smallest room of the house! The toilet cistern is located in the garage and was originally manually activated by a pushbutton connected via a cable. The location of the pushbutton - combined with the stiffness of the mechanism made it tricky for her to use. This project provides a solution to the problem.

I'm new to this whole process, so this is a build by a newbie for newbies.

For a long time I had a project to buy a CNC, in time I have evaluated several possibilities. I chose the option of a pre-constructed and scalable machine according to my needs, with sufficient rigidity features to do work of average importance. The starting investment was important to take into account to allow changes from the open source domain.

LEAD CNC

I wanted a CNC machine that was able to do dovetails and other box joints. I also wanted to have it be able to tilt so it would take up less space when I was working on other projects.

This is a build that is just getting started. Not all of the parts are ordered or printed as of 5/27/2018. Hopefully in the next few weeks all parts will be printed and most parts ordered.

Triangular Towers

My first ever build. Straight C-beam with tinyg controller a few do-dads and some make do choices. Non-metric length lead screws to save long lead time. Jog knobs to cover the extra length and also practical. My old Bosch Colt never had it so good. Build out work remains, wire dressing, drag chain, vacuum, permanent base, etc.

Design Change - Version 2.0 has a smaller foot print, custom gantry supports, and front and back covers. I will use standard V-Slot for gantry supports leaving me enough travel to manufacture the customer supports with this machine when completed. then update to final build. I also plan to install the controller into the front cover and power supply into the back cover. Should be nice and tidy.

This is a T Nut Holder for OpenBuilds V Slot System. Useful when you want to keep t nuts in place, for example when you're mounting something vertically.

Approximately 910mm x 955mm x 82mm. There is 250mm available in the Z, but the gantry is only 82mm from the bed surface.
