This is a design for a desktop CNC machine. It may be a router or laser. I am undecided as to the final design.

This is a basic description of my OX-like build of Babe, Paul Bunyan's Blue Ox. It is a work in progress. The idea has been germinating for about 4 years, with several twists and turns and false starts along the way.

I'm starting my first own build cnc machine which is inspired by routy and the ox. Were my goal was not to use the ox plates but use the standard plates available in the parts store for the design.

This is a 1500 X 1500 Stainless OX kit build, by a cnc novice. It is the first cnc machine i have ovned and build I got this kit from http://makersupplies.dk/20-ox-cnc-kits

I ordered the OpenBuilds MiniMill from the OpenBuilds Parts Store http://openbuildspartstore.com/ They were out of Motors and Electronics when I ordered so I had to source these items elsewhere. But it turned out well doing it this way.

The Story of the Scecina Memorial High School 1510 BUILD will unfold through a series of 10 minute Episodes. Each episode will consist of video showing how to assemble some aspect of the 1510 overlaid with a discussion about Technology, Art, Philosophy... and Life the Universe and Everything. Episode two is soon to follow. If sufficient interest ensues, the episodes may continue beyond the building of the 1510 to relate its use in the making of the Art.

First venture into cnc machining I decided on the C-Beam .

This is my take on the Acro Laser system made from mostly salvaged, scrap, or leftover parts. I modified the plates in an attempt to maximize the cutting area and I wanted a lightweight adjustable Z axis.

It all started after my prusa i3 build inspired me to experiment with resin 3D printers because I want to learn if they are worth it and if I can design my own printer.

A stable CNC Router that allows me to cut and carve bigger Parts. The Machine is an original Build from Kyo's Sphinx CNC Machine. Thanks for the great Work and the Effort Kyo. Your Files and Lists helped me a lot to build that Sphinx 1x1m.

20x26x28 inch Build Volume CoreXY. Unlike many builds, I've decoupled the XY movements from the Z-Axis lead screws to help prevent Wobble, will be using linear guide rails, and mains powered bed heater, and a bed that is Allowed to thermally grow. This build is JUST narrow enough to fit through a standard sized doorway.

Just an idea right now but will attempt a prototype in the near future. Not sure if this has been tried before or not.....

This is a pure cbeam build to maximize envelope and rigidity. All the parts used are available from open builds.

My Controls box to run my Workbee 1510 That was retrofitted with Lead Screws as well as Lineal Bearings. The stock electrical configuration was not enough, so here are the Measures that I took to not only make this machine Run again, but to have fun with it, and make this system be able to run any CNC I run in the future with the installed microcontroller.

Modified OX with carbon fiber reinforced X and Z axes. 1500mm Y, 1000mm X and 120mm Z clearence

I have the demand to cut/etch tall pieces of material. For this reason, I have designed a machine with 500mm uprights with adjustable gantry height. This way I can raise/lower the sled and z-axis as needed. I've also chosen to use a linear C-channel assembly for the Z axis with the plate mounted to the gantry instead of the other way around. This will allow for maximum range of the z-axis. The parts list/BOM does not include motors/belts/pulleys or electronics.

Modified Acro for laser engraving. Extra height and and a sturdy build surface for part fixtures, custom mount plates, OPT Laser, and a Z-Axis.

Build features include a double c-beam gantry (bonded & mechanically fastened), linear x rails, custom gantry end plates, a custom linear rail & ballscrew Z axis, and custom lead screw tensioning plates. The primary goal was to remove twist from the 1500mm gantry & stiffen the Z axis.

Inspired by the original OX by Mark Carew, this is my Custom OX. Many small changes, additions, and upgrades. Build is in progress and this post will be updated regularly with photos. Enjoy!

Using the Routy290 build and an awful lot of help from puntoMX, this machine has been expanded in the X and Y axis. My first build, I'm learning a lot about all of this. I've had to disassemble parts of this thing many times due to forgetfulness, but that's ok. Also, I've forgotten to take constant pictures throughout the build.

This is my version of the OpenBuilds ACRO System CNC, a 1010 version (1000mm x 1000mm). I need this machine to build PCB prototypes within 2-days at maximum. I will try to build PCBs using drill and laser methods...

ROUX is a 2'x4' CNC that can be easily handbuilt without an existing mill and removes the need to buy generic plates for the Routy. A simpler, more refined machine.

As a tinkerer and hobbyist I need a reliable quality printer on a budget... Meaning I'm not looking to buy a: Prusa, Zortrax or LulzBot because of the added cost their marketing adds. I can definitely build a machine of hopefully equal quality at a lower cost that is not impacted by the marked-up priced from a large reputable manufacturer. I made a 5x10 foot cnc out of the parts I bought on this site. It's been upgraded and tinkered with ever since. The end goal is to learn enough to learn to build a large 10x10 foot 3d printer.

Interlocking GT3 belts for X and Y. Looking to change over to a rack and pinion system in the future. 8x8Tr Lead screw for the Z. Leadshine HBS507 close loop drivers and 3-phase servo motor 573HBM20-EC-1000 motors driving the Y and X axis. Would recommend them to anyone looking for servo like performance at a affordable price.

The plasma CNC that I have built has a water table that measures 1350mm x 650mm. The water is flooded onto the cut area while cutting and recycled around with a pump. This is to reduce smoke, cool the metal being cut to reduce distortion and also to keep sparks to a minimum. Most of the machine has been made from aluminium , the frame and table from steel, the water table, stainless steel.

Starting my cnc router, laser and plasma using aluminium 80x80

I am attempting to mount The C-Beam Machine XLarge on the wall and have it look like a piece of art and be totally functional as this will be in our livingroom.

The purpose of this machine is to mix two parts of conformal coating with different viscosity in exactly 1:1 ratio and distribute the fluid on to PCB to seal and make it waterproof.

This is the build of a cartesian 3d printer made of an old Anet and Geeeteck, some 2020 alu profil and linear rail. Powered by a Rumba with a Nextion screen. It should be modular and accept dual Extrusion and laser engraving.
