I am currently 15 years old, from Germany and trying to build a low budged CNC router. I only designed this CNC based on other CNC routers that I have seen and what I am able of. It consists mostly of 2.3cm plywood to keep costs down. The size of the work area is approx. 40 x 80 cm. I would be really glad if you could give me advice's for improvement on the design and everything else ... ( I could really need your help :) ) enjoy :)

This build summarizes my CNC milling and laser engraving machine conversion from a dimensional lumber frame and electrical mess to an all aluminum frame with a safe and well constructed (IMHO) control system with the resources I had available.

A dual head PNP machine that uses Openbuilds hardware, a Smoothieboard controller, dual camera vision, automatic/drag feeders, and OpenPnp.

I have built four of these frames. The first pictured I have been using for maybe a year or two and bought the clamps. The last three I have made I have built my own clamps with openbuild parts. I am still working on the design. At present I use wedges to apply pressure to the side of the wood and block. I am working on a cam system to apply pressure. I just bought 8mm screws with Knobs for quicker adjustment. I will update the build when I make these improvements.

This will be a complete overhaul of this router with some cool modifications.

Inspired by previous Sphinx builds by Sorin (w/ MGN Rails) and Kenneth's witthuhnCNC XKLBR-1S. This project produced a movable framed canvas to cover a wall-mounted flat-screen TV when not being viewed, which at the touch of of a switch moves down below the TV and sound bar. The same switch is used afterwards to return the artwork up to cover the TV again. Photo shows mechanism without the canvas frame. See other photos.

This is a heavily modified system based on the RatRig V-Cast. Lots of personal touches, and a LOT more to come!

This is a small desktop vacuum former that can be connected to a shop-vac and an electric heat source (like a grill for instance). You can control the time each appliance stays turned on, and the vacuum is automatically turned on when the tray is placed on top of the model. The vacuum table is 20x20cm wide, and I've tested it mostly with 1mm thick PET sheets.

Proteus is the Greek God of change. Besides the numerous aspect of 3D printing that this could relate to this machine like the god can change. The Build allows for an interchanging head that will allow different functionality to be quickly and easily adapted. The COTSPnP pick-and-place machine (PnP) is used to place surface-mount devices (SMDs) onto a printed circuit board and was designed and built exclusively from off-the-shelf (COTS) components, predominantly sourced from OpenBuilds and Actobotics. Its intended use is prototyping and not high rate, high volume production and is capable of precisely placing parts as small as 0402 capacitors and resistors but more importantly, can precisely place components with lead spacing as small a 0.4mm.

This is a small CNC mill/router specifically for manufacture PCBs. This is based on the corexy gantry setup. The plan is to have a small, light self-contained machine that can be used and easily but away when it's job is done.

This build is made by students from Fontys Hogescholen Eindhoven, department Engineering. Every quarter a new group continues the work of the previous group. We have been working on the project since september 2015, and as it is a work in progress, a lot will be added later. The C-Beam Evolution is an evolving machine. The MkII is inspired by Kyo's C-Beam Spinx but currently uses my own design of plates made of 8mm acrylic (X-axis ends) and 6mm polycarbonate (Y axis ends). The plates were made on the MkI but I hope to be able to make 6mm aluminium plates on the MkII for the MkIII.

Hypothesis - Running CO2 laser tubes at high amperage may shoirten tube life in number of hours, but will be made up for by the increase in actual inches engraved/cut using the higher power. This is a long term experiment, so the build status will remain as "Build in progress" until the experiment has been completed.

I have shared many pictures of this project it is now complete I have had my first cuts on this machine and it is solid , still learning the new motion Controller. The Acorn is more like you would find on a commercial built CNC or CNC Lathe.But it does have all of the functionally one needs

I put this together to cut aluminum. Chips get everywhere! Cover your lead screws. Put the mill inside an enclosure. DON'T mount electronics (especially the power supply) inside the enclosure, chips will get into it and short it out. Remove the manual jog wheels, they contribute to chatter (something about having a mass on the end of the lead screw causes vibration). I cut at 14000 RPM, 0.05 inch width of cut, 0.05 inch depth of cut, 30 inches per minute and just barely avoid chatter.

My goal was to be able to enlarge my C-Beam with as many original parts as possible. I was able to recycle almost all of them with a only the two 500 mm rails left over. I used 1000 mm rails for the X Axis and I added another complete Y Axis assembly. I chose to keep it simple and I am very happy with the result!

This is a brief overview of the build of my macro imaging slide.

Stinger displays images in the air by using a single column of LEDs. Special computer code converts graphics to pixels; then, the pixels are send to the strings of LEDs, which with the help of of the motor's fast movement the most colorful are displayed on thin air.

The Rock n Roll is built on granite, is solid as a rock, and gathers no moss. This build provides a high degree of accuracy and repeatability. Built to be strong, use redundancy, and use long lever arms to average out imperfections in the equipment. Built to go fast and light. We will use a high speed spindle, large high voltage stepper motors and small cutting heads to overwhelm the forces produced at the cutting head.

Need to build a machine that accurately positions objects for processing by a computer vision algorithm? Here is an example of a machine that does that for a ball trajectory application. The black anodized V-rails work well for applications in optics and imaging where the machine needs to stay out of the limelight.

I'm conducing guitar loudspeaker cabinet fabrication technique research (material type/thickness, mechanical joints, adhesives, etc) and how these relate to cabinet/speaker coupling and enclosure resonance with respect to psycho-acoustics. Basically, does one speaker cab sound better than another and why?

The purpose of this machine is to mix two parts of conformal coating with different viscosity in exactly 1:1 ratio and distribute the fluid on to PCB to seal and make it waterproof.

This build is based on the Workbee 1010 CNC. It is not a kit build and is much the same as the original but with some significant changes made here and there as the build progresses.

My build is based on many different builds but pieced together into a unit specifically to suit my needs. The footprint, without motors, is around 500mm x 1000mm with a gantry height of around 250mm. I used a combination of C-Beam, for the linear transmission, and V-Slot for the base and gantry supports. Forged angle connectors were used for attachment and I utilized the C-Beam gantry cart kits with anti-backlash blocks for both Y axes, the X axis, and Z axis.

This is a totally original build of an od id grinder and thread grinder, I hope.
