This is a simple cantilevered 3D Printer. It is designed around the OB V-Slot linear rails. I am trying to simplify this as much as possible, all rails will be 250mm long and only one will require cutting (it will be cut in half). The printer will use all OB wheels and gantry plates where applicable, all other plates can be either Laser Cut or 3D Printed (files will be provided for both). I am not set on electronic as of yet, but plan to use a single control board...no Arduino/Ramps control.

i´ve designing this laser taking care of every part to be functional, This laser has Endstops mounts on the corners and the X axis both sides too. The corners has fasbelt tension knobs for easy operation. This modular CNC machine is based on the OpenBuilds ACRO System, however I wanted something that did more than just laser engrave. So I designed my machine using the same style as the ACRO but with some upgrades such as an actual Z-axis and the ability for multiple tool attachments.

Large format printer build based off successful small Corexy. I figured it could be scaled to large format and be portable. Portable meaning by removing a few pieces it could effectively be rotated out of a standard door frame.

Below are the details of my build and a good story for those who read till the end. Sorry for the grammar

I designed this 3D printer from scratch for my mechanical engineering capstone project. It's made for printing clay but should be able to print any paste material. The clay extruder system could be easily modified to work with almost any 3D printer. The printer is approximately the same size as an Ender 3.

I creat a open source 3D Printer to print big things. Print size: 400x500x300 mm. You can download the Drawing in PDF and in Inventor 2013 format. The unwinding drawings are also included. I take some detail photos for a better understanding.

This is a work in progress(not printing yet). Expect this instructions to grow with time, but for now it is mainly interesting for those who want to take part in developing this printer.

OneZ gets it's name from it's most unique feature - only motor for the Z axis while maintaining the stability of two bearing guides for the Z axis. Reduction to one Z motor eliminates need for auto bed leveling.

Over 840 parts. Of whom around 450 are screws and nuts, more than 100 parts are printed on a 3D printer, the frame consists of about 60 components. There is nearly 40 electrical components connected with tens of meters of wires, most of them sleeved.

I like combo machines, so I upgrade my 3D Printer with a Laser. It is a double head combination. The Laser is easy removable.

I have re-purposed many of the parts from my Linear OX build. I'm using MGN 12 linear rails on all three axis, 5 start lead screws on the Z axis and I'm going to experiment with 5 start lead screw on the X axis. The frame plates are made from 1/8" laser cut mild steel, & open builds extrusion.

This is my first attempt at building my own 3d printer.

A slightly more than one half cubic meter 3D Printer using V Rails, V Rollers, "C" Rail, mounting plates, and a bunch of 3D printed brackets to provide strength and stability to the frame. This is Adamantine, a all aluminum lead screw driven 3d printer. I wanted to have a printer that would not be effected by the heat or humidity I have here as my current wood frame printer is.

I am going to use this as a build log for my delta 3d printer build. I have access to a MakerBOT to print some of the parts. I am still finishing up a few of the design elements but the idea is to have a rigid unit to eliminate deflection in components and maintain accuracy.

Use of V-Slot for frame and rails with option to use identical 500mm uncut lengths: 8 * 20x60 x 500mm 8 * 20x40 x 500mm 7 * 20x20 x 500mm (2 cut into four identical 125mm pieces for filament holders) Use of uncut 500mm rails obtained through use of 12 joining plates for use as spacers. Alternate approach is to trim two 20x40 and 1 20x20 rail by 6-8mm each. Build volume ~400mm cubed (with dual extruders). Use of only openbuilds components! Currently in design phase...
