In my opinion, this is the easiest and most complete tutorial to walk you through building a large platform 3D printer and the Sketchup File is included for you to make any changes needed.. I have a two car garage NOT devoted to 3d printing or CNC. I have set aside a space for my 3d printer and a place to store my portable CNC table. The reason it’s portable is so that I wheel and can use my Lead 1010 outside where it won’t make a mess in the garage. The table is self contained. Although this build is typically Mach3 related there is no reason it cannot be adapted for use with any machine control software which provides a PWM spindle control output. As an addition, an option has now been added which will enable the interface to manually control outrunner speed without the need for a PWM signal.

While mimicing the frame platform of the popular Crealiy CR-10 and Ender series, the Vulcan MAX overcomes design weaknesses in both printers. Chief improvements are a more stable, rigid mounting of the Z frame and Z gantry.

I designed and made this from scratch. The frame is welded steel filled with sand, and most of the other parts are aluminium. It's controlled with a DIY ESP32 controller running GRBL_ESP32

I wanted a CNC machine that was able to do dovetails and other box joints. I also wanted to have it be able to tilt so it would take up less space when I was working on other projects.

A slightly more than one half cubic meter 3D Printer using V Rails, V Rollers, "C" Rail, mounting plates, and a bunch of 3D printed brackets to provide strength and stability to the frame. Rigidity was the goal and precision and accuracy the result. The software is a whole other topic, many weeks spent dialing that in to make the printer print.

It's a Z floating head idea. Works well. Recommend cleaning the inside of your holes well with Q tips, and polishing the 1/4-20 bolts with car wax and you won't need oil as it slides perfectly. Hope this helps
