A CNC build using linear rails & lead screws.

The OX-Metal is based on the original OX CNC mill But with a few modifications and add-ons

My main goal for my build is to have a machine that is capable of profiling and help me in my designs, for the manufacture of custom automotive headlights.

A simple Embroidery machine using an XY belt and pinion drive to drive a hoop under a standard sewing machine. Needle timing, machine power and stepper control are all provided by a PIC processor. A tablet provides the higher level formatting required for communicating with the PIC chip.

Super rigid Delta printer, using 20X40 V-Slot

This machine has been in the works for quite a while. Most of the plates were cut with my Shpinx machine. I have a lot more photos and information to share soon.

Here it is my intention to show what was involved in adding a CO2 laser to my existing CNC machine.

Another build based on the original OX design with a cutting area will be about 26" (680mm) x 50" (1300mm) and driven by lead screws.

A tribute build based on Kyo's wonderful CBeam Sphinx. My hope is to improve on that build slightly, but to be honest, I'll probably just screw it up. I'll use this build to publicly document my failures.

This is going to be a Sphinx 1050 build. Starting off as a stock kit build using industrial electronics and opensource control software. Mods and upgrades to follow.

I have based this build on the OX build so I will not be going into too much detail of specefic assembly modules as they asre so well covered by Mark Carew already, but will go through the complete build on video. Based on the work of Carl Feniak and his C-Bot. A robust Core XY style 3D printer that has a clean parallel belt implementation and whose dimensions are adaptable to meet builder's needs. The use of open builds V-slot and other open hardware make customization easy. Utilizing a 300x300 build plate this derivation utilizes three lead screws, synced to a single motor via gt2 belt

Although this build is typically Mach3 related there is no reason it cannot be adapted for use with any machine control software which provides a PWM spindle control output. As an addition, an option has now been added which will enable the interface to manually control outrunner speed without the need for a PWM signal.

Building a Core XY printer with a fixed build plate from off the shelf parts.

The UltiBots CB3030 CNC uses C-Beam, V-Slot and an extruded aluminum T-Slot work table. This allows 6mm T-Nuts, step clamps and blocks to secure materials to the work surface. The all metal design makes the use of a mister possible.

Based on D-Bot but used more metal bracing / openbuild plates instead of plastic parts. Also size was increased.

A dual extrusion CoreXY printer with a 290 X 290mm build volume built entirely out of 2020 aluminum extrusion and using openbuilds mini-carriages for motion.

For a schoolproject we decided to build this large format CNC-machine. The greatest part of the mechanics were sourced from OpenBuilds.

This is a simple cantilevered 3D Printer. It is designed around the OB V-Slot linear rails. I am trying to simplify this as much as possible, all rails will be 250mm long and only one will require cutting (it will be cut in half). The printer will use all OB wheels and gantry plates where applicable, all other plates can be either Laser Cut or 3D Printed (files will be provided for both). I am not set on electronic as of yet, but plan to use a single control board...no Arduino/Ramps control.

Combines the layout factor of a CoreXY while using Cartesian logic. The design has a fixed build plate - moving an X/Y frame on the Z axis enclosed by an outer main frame.

This is a lathe. I do not plan on making parts for NASA, but I want to be able to turn, face and bore things like wood, brass, aluminum and plastics.

The aim of this design is to build a simple, cost effective (under $1000) and relatively compact large volume (m3) 3D printer that will use a pellet extruder to create art/design objects using shredded recycled plastics.

Modified C-beam Machine. Taller (30 cm) C-beam uprights in gantry, and longer 750 mm frame in Y direction. XL gantry plate on X (and Z?). Y will have additional 700 mm SBR16 rails as extra support and slightly raised bed to fit above stepper motor. Approx. machinable area of 370 x 370 mm.

Ultimo is the ultimate multi tool for the person who's serious about prototyping new ideas. A Delta Robot frame supports 3d printing up to 450mm in diameter, a powerful CNC Mill, and 50 amp plasma cutter for processing steel plate. And that's just a start.....wait till you see some of the other attachments we are currently working on incorporating.

I started this build about 2 weeks after the c-beam hit the store. I purchased a single bundle and ordered a TinyG to run it. where I work I have Hardware, Software and Mechanical engineers and they all got sucked into my project. they want one to do prototyping at the office, once they see mine...

This design should give the same performance as the high speed Ultimaker since it uses a similar ultra-light X/Y concept which eliminates any movement of both the X and Y motors to achieve X/Y travel.

Maximus Evolution : 380mm x 400mm XL 3D Printer

The C-Beam Prefab Untitled is designed as the cartesian compliment to the C-Beam XL. With the exception of requiring a couple more 1000mm C-Beams and lead screws, the build requires a minimum of additional parts. The primary intention of the build is to maximize the cutting envelope while still staying within the sweet spot for C-beam rigidity. This design can easily be modified and allows for further custom structural components to be cut with the initial build platform.

Some of the things that I have done to my 1510 Workbee Installed Linear rails and bearing blocks with drawings. Installed Ops console Made conversion plates for extruded aluminum to casters Extended z axis travel by a couple inches with steel plates. As of now in the process of installing Lead screws across the 1500mm length.

Large Core XY 3d Printer W/fixed build plate

While mimicing the frame platform of the popular Crealiy CR-10 and Ender series, the Vulcan MAX overcomes design weaknesses in both printers. Chief improvements are a more stable, rigid mounting of the Z frame and Z gantry.

Mechanically, a scaled up OX build (1500x1500). Electronically, GRBL on an Arduino and a gShield. From a software perspective, the focus is on useable open source software tool chains.

This will showcase the build of my Rawcnc 1.5. A rigid cnc router from the Swedish company Rawcnc, featuring a rather cool linear motion system, rack & pinion and steel reinforced X-axis capable of milling aluminum.

While building my OX AI I found myself with left over v slot and thought to myself, what do I need that I can build using them? Well since I make a lot of my own PCB boards for projects I figured a micro PCB mill would fit the bill ;) With inspiration from the OX and OX AI I give you the Stinger V :)

The aim of this OpenBot build, was to make a 3d Printer that was easy to build with minimal tools and using of the shelve parts from Openbuilds.

This is my first CNC build. The Sea-OX is a machine built out of three 1000mm C-Beams. I plan to have a Y length of 1000mm and a X length of 650mm. The Z should have the ability to move approximately 100mm.

Currently I have Velleman/3Drag K8200 modified and CNC machine self built and wanted to use both to make new 3D printer. After looking at different designs I liked Voron a lot and have decided to go that way. Currently I have ordered majority of parts and build shall start soon. A log of my "brain surgery" on a Cricut Expressions 2 to change the control board to something open so that I could cut what I wanted. The ESP32 GRBL board I used has bluetooth and WIFI built-in and was very easy to get working just the way I wanted.

A CoreXY/Bowden design with a belt driven Z axis. This is a box design without the front end of the box, making the print area and maintenance, like changing a nozzle, easily accessible.

Integrating custom machined components and off-the-shelf CNC components to create a portable diode laser etcher with air assist and reasonably substantial z-axis travel.

Large inexpensive build that can cut a 4x8 ft sheet with room to spare. Can be built using only a 3D printer and standard parts -- no special CNC'd plates required.

The Space Optimized LAser Cutter is a 40 watt CO2 laser cutter that supports a maximum part volume of 24" x 16" x 6.25". It consists of a V-slot frame + brackets/mounts designed to be 3D printed on a consumer desktop printer. Total cost of the machine is ~ $1,400 USD.

A design in progress, to 3D carve two-part Aluminium injection moulds for Soft Plastic Lures and Lead Jigs, so I can prototype some of the concepts rattling around in my head. All Openbuilds parts where possible, 1000x500mm footprint, 0.8kw Water-cooled Spindle?, High Torque Stepper?,Smoothieboard?, I still have no idea. As a newbie to the CNC world, any wisdom would be welcome to take this from just a idea into reality so I can start playing with all this awesome stuff. Thanks in advance

This 3D printer is an implementation of the Ultimaker 3D printer Using the Modular approach, many of the parts from the CubeSpawn 3 axis mill translate straight across into this design, so adding new concepts should go quicker
