In this project, I show you how I built my DIY CNC machine. All moving parts of the DIY CNC router are running on ball bearings while the structural parts are made with natural materials, namely birch plywood and solid beech wood.

This build uses drawer slides and thread rod to create foam wings and fuselages by passing a hot wire through the foam which makes very accurate shapes. DIY build of a Co2 Laser cutter/engraver 12x24 working area.

This modular CNC machine is based on the OpenBuilds ACRO System, however I wanted something that did more than just laser engrave. So I designed my machine using the same style as the ACRO but with some upgrades such as an actual Z-axis and the ability for multiple tool attachments.

For a schoolproject we decided to build this large format CNC-machine. The greatest part of the mechanics were sourced from OpenBuilds.

We wanted to create a rapid prototyping machine with excellent 3D printing, laser cutting and engraving, and light CNC router work capabilities.

I have been toying with the idea of making a 3 axis rotary CNC machine for awhile. I wanted to make it with off the shelf OpenBuilds parts so any one can replicate it and I felt the LEAD High Z Mod would be a good starting point.

Combines the layout factor of a CoreXY while using Cartesian logic. The design has a fixed build plate - moving an X/Y frame on the Z axis enclosed by an outer main frame.

This is a lathe. I do not plan on making parts for NASA, but I want to be able to turn, face and bore things like wood, brass, aluminum and plastics.

Modified C-beam Machine. Taller (30 cm) C-beam uprights in gantry, and longer 750 mm frame in Y direction. XL gantry plate on X (and Z?). Y will have additional 700 mm SBR16 rails as extra support and slightly raised bed to fit above stepper motor. Approx. machinable area of 370 x 370 mm.

The aim of this design is to build a simple, cost effective (under $1000) and relatively compact large volume (m3) 3D printer that will use a pellet extruder to create art/design objects using shredded recycled plastics.

Proteus is the Greek God of change. Besides the numerous aspect of 3D printing that this could relate to this machine like the god can change. The Build allows for an interchanging head that will allow different functionality to be quickly and easily adapted. I've used the good work of Openbuilds & expanded it to suit.

I have completed some custom build 3d printers (i3 and delta style) and a cnc mill based on v-slot and c-beam. From the beginning the cnc was built to fit/change between router, 5w led laser module and plotter pen. While all three works great, the build is primarily focused on heavy duty milling and brings some disadvantages when it comes to laser - slow because of leadscrew motion system and not as powerful because of “only” led laser. That is why I have started this build of co2 laser machine.
