A simple Embroidery machine using an XY belt and pinion drive to drive a hoop under a standard sewing machine. Needle timing, machine power and stepper control are all provided by a PIC processor. A tablet provides the higher level formatting required for communicating with the PIC chip.

I have been toying with the idea of making a 3 axis rotary CNC machine for awhile. I wanted to make it with off the shelf OpenBuilds parts so any one can replicate it and I felt the LEAD High Z Mod would be a good starting point.

My Machine is based on the OX CNC designed by Mark Carew as well as the ooznest kit, and it incorporates a bunch of my own details and revisions to increase performance and robustness. It has become way more beastly than I originally planned!

I have completed some custom build 3d printers (i3 and delta style) and a cnc mill based on v-slot and c-beam. From the beginning the cnc was built to fit/change between router, 5w led laser module and plotter pen. While all three works great, the build is primarily focused on heavy duty milling and brings some disadvantages when it comes to laser - slow because of leadscrew motion system and not as powerful because of “only” led laser. That is why I have started this build of co2 laser machine.

The WorkBee is capable of accurately cutting foams, woods, plastics or aluminum at depths greater than 25mm to 0.2mm accuracy or greater.

The aim of this design is to build a simple, cost effective (under $1000) and relatively compact large volume (m3) 3D printer that will use a pellet extruder to create art/design objects using shredded recycled plastics.

This is the story of me building myOX - my version of the "ideal" OX. I want a machine which can route/mill at least 4' wide and as long as I can feed through (don't be shy, think "infinity") as well as going deep on multiple faces - manual 4th axis. Heavily upgrading my 1200x500 Shapeoko 2... ...er, wait, scratch that... Building an all new machine, roughly the same size, that should be more rigid than a Shapeoko 3!

Let me explain: About a year ago I was planning to build a CNC router of my own design. I started gathering components including the THK linear rails. I soon found out you pretty much need a CNC to build a CNC and this is when I decided to build my Sphinx machine. I've had these rails and some other parts sitting around so it's time I used them! I'm planning to incorporate linear rails and 1605 ballscrews into the Sphinx design. I really like the overall appearance of the Sphinx.

CoreXY printer heavily inspired by e3d's new open source printer with tool changing. I intend to make it so when e3d start selling toolheads these can be added to the machine without any major work having to be done.

Yet another build of an improved C-Beam Machine, improving stiffness, size, versatility, and strength without increasing costs much.

I wanted a dust shoe that have a easy access to tool change and something that kind of float on the surface. And I have seen shoes with long brush that sucked in by the vacuum. I think I have the solution too all that here.

In my opinion, this is the easiest and most complete tutorial to walk you through building a large platform 3D printer and the Sketchup File is included for you to make any changes needed.. The Plastic Beast is a CoreXY Printer with a build platform of 440mm square. You can print 600mm or about 23 inches diagonal. Any level of user from novice to expert should gain something from my tutorial.

Step by step designing and implementing of my plasma approach

The name of the printer is G&C Printer from Good & Cheap Printer. My goal was to design an printer that was good print quality and was cheap. The total cost of the printer is about 490€.

I have based this build on the OX build so I will not be going into too much detail of specefic assembly modules as they asre so well covered by Mark Carew already, but will go through the complete build on video.
